Fabric & Materials
Fabric recommendations: dress fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing, 9 buttons. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance – 1.5 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).

- Stitch the darts on the wrong side of the back. Press the dart folds towards the center and topstitch 0.1 – 0.2 cm from the dart. Stitch the center back seam. Press seam allowances to the left and overcast.
- Stitch the darts on the wrong side of the front. Press the dart folds towards the center and topstitch 0.1 – 0.2 cm from the dart.
- Press the front placket lengthwise in half, right side out. Stitch the inner side of the placket to the front, press seam allowances towards the placket. Turn the raw edge of the outer placket inwards and topstitch into the seam of the inner placket attachment. Topstitch 0.1 cm along the edge of the front opening.
- Stitch shoulder seams, press seam allowances towards the back and overcast.
- Cut (if not ready-made) a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length + 4 cm. Fold the bias binding lengthwise in half, right side out, and press. Place the binding along the armhole edge, right sides together, and stitch. Fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold onto the main piece. Alternatively, the armhole can be finished with bias binding by trimming the seam allowance.
- Stitch side seams, press seam allowances towards the back and overcast.
- Place collar pieces right sides together, stitch the ends and the outer edge. Trim seam allowances at corners. Turn the collar right side out, shape, and press. Topstitch 0.1 cm from the edge. Place collar stand pieces right sides together, insert the finished collar between them and stitch, simultaneously stitching the ends of the collar stand. Start and end stitching strictly at the marked collar stand attachment line. Turn the finished collar right side out and press. Stitch the outer collar stand to the neckline, turn under the raw edge of the inner collar stand and topstitch into the attachment seam.
- Overcast the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.
- On the left front and collar stand, overcast buttonholes. Sew on corresponding buttons.
