Fabric recommendations: dress fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; concealed zipper; 10 buttons.
CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm; hem allowance for the bottom of the garment and sleeve hem – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST OF ALL, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical parts). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- From main fabric:
- Center back part - 2 pieces
- Side back part - 2 pieces
- Center front part right - 1 piece
- Center front part left - 1 piece
- Side front part - 2 pieces
- Sleeve – 2 pieces
- Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
- Front neckline facing – 1 piece
- From fusible interfacing:
- Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
- Front neckline facing – 1 piece
Sewing Instructions
- Reinforce the pieces and the one-piece facing of the right front with fusible interfacing.
- Stitch the princess seams of the back, press allowances towards the center, overcast.
- Overcast the center back seams separately on each piece. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark to the bottom edge, press allowances open. Insert the zipper.
- Turn the one-piece facing of the right front to the right side along the center front line and stitch the upper and lower corners. Start and end the stitching exactly at the marked line for attaching the left part. At the neckline, clip the allowances at the mark, turn the facing to the wrong side, straighten, press. Stitch the left front to the inner side of the right facing from the neckline to the mark, press allowances, overcast along the entire length. Press the section of the left front from the mark to the bottom to the wrong side and topstitch.
- Stitch the princess seams of the front, press allowances towards the center, overcast.
- Stitch the side and shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and overcast.
- Stitch the shoulder seams of the neckline facings, press allowances open. Overcast the outer edge. Place the facing with the garment right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Clip allowances at curves, turn facings to the wrong side and press. Secure to shoulder seams and zipper tape.
- Stitch the sleeve seam, press allowances towards the back and overcast. Set sleeves into armholes, press allowances and overcast.
- Overcast the hem allowance of the dress bottom and sleeve bottom, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
