Long Sleeve Draped Scarf Neck Jersey Blouson

Pattern #4872
Tech. Description

Fabric & Materials

FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: knit fabric with low to medium stretch, made from natural or blended fibers.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: hem allowance, sleeve hem allowance – 2.0 cm, all other seams – 1.0 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED.

  • From main fabric:
    • Front – 1 piece on fold
    • Back – 1 piece on fold
    • Left collar part – 1 piece
    • Right collar part – 1 piece
    • Sleeve – 2 pieces

Tip: Knit fabric pieces are sewn with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle or on a coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity. You can also sew pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlock. Before doing so, trim seam allowances to 0.7 cm.

Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  1. Stitch bust darts (if provided by size). Press dart depths upwards.
  2. Stitch the center collar seam, press seam allowances open. Lay and stitch pleats according to markings on the center seam and on the left side of the collar, directing depths downwards. Fold the collar lengthwise in half, right sides together, and stitch: on the left side – the section from the edge to the mark, on the right side – the bias and straight edge to the mark. Clip seam allowances at the marks, turn the collar right side out, press. Overlap the left collar part onto the right and secure.
  3. Stitch shoulder seams, press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
  4. Attach the collar to the neckline, press seam allowances towards the main garment and serge. Topstitch the collar attachment seam allowances to the main garment at 0.5 cm, simultaneously securing the opening for the right collar part.
  5. Set sleeves into open armholes, matching notches, press seam allowances and serge. Stitch sleeve seams simultaneously with side seams, press seam allowances and serge.
  6. Serge the bottom edge of the garment and the sleeve hem, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
