V-Neck Wrap Blouse Buttoned Cuffs

Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: thin blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. For example, silk. Also needed: fusible interfacing; 3 buttons; 1 internal button. IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEN THE PATTERNS INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THEN THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance at the bottom edge of the garment – 2.5 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST OF ALL, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to consider paired and symmetrical parts).

CUTTER'S MUST

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

• From main fabric:
  • Back - 1 piece with fold
  • Front – 2 pieces
  • Sleeve – 2 pieces
  • Cuff – 4 pieces
  • Front facing — 2 pieces
  • Back neckline facing — 1 piece
• From fusible interfacing:
  • Cuff – 2 pieces
  • Front facing — 2 pieces
  • Back neckline facing — 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
2. Stitch darts on the front pieces. Press dart allowances upwards.
3. Stitch side and shoulder seams. Overlock allowances and press towards the back.
4. Stitch shoulder seams of the front facings and back neckline facing. Press allowance towards the back. Overlock the outer edge. Place the garment and front facing right sides together and stitch along the front edge and neckline. Clip allowances, trim corners, turn the front facings to the wrong side and press.
5. Make a slit on the sleeve along the marked line. Cut a bias binding from the main fabric 4 cm wide and a length equal to twice the slit length +4 cm. Fold the binding in half lengthwise and press. Press the outer allowances towards the center. Finish the sleeve slit with bias binding. Form and secure pleats on the sleeve. Pleats are directed away from the closure.
6. Stitch the sleeve seam. Overlock allowance and press towards the back. Set sleeves into armholes. Overlock allowance and press.
7. Place cuff pieces right sides together and stitch the side and bottom edges. Start and end stitching precisely at the marked seam line for attaching the cuff. Turn the piece right side out, press. Attach the outer cuff to the sleeve, fold the allowance of the inner cuff inwards and topstitch into the seam of the outer cuff attachment.
8. Overlock the bottom edge of the garment. Press allowances to the wrong side and topstitch.
9. Overlock buttonholes on the right front and cuffs, sew on buttons. Overlock buttonhole on the left front and sew on the internal button.
