When To Wear

  • In summer and warm spring days, with trousers or a straight skirt for the office.
  • Worn loose over jeans or tucked into a skirt for everyday wear.

Key Design Features

Silhouette: Semi-fitted, shaped with bust darts from the side seams.

Length: Hip length, with a slightly curved hem.

Neckline: V-neck finished with an interfaced front neckline facing.

Collar: Two-layer stand collar, interfaced, running around the back neck and stopping at the edges of the V; the inner stand is stitched into the attachment seam.

Front: Front cut on the fold, with separate yokes at the shoulders; four beads on each yoke seam, eight in total.

Sleeves: Short set-in sleeves with a 1.2 cm hem allowance, overlocked, turned and topstitched.

Back: One piece cut on the fold, with no seams or darts.

Finishing: Hem turned 1 cm, then 1.5 cm, and topstitched; side and shoulder seams pressed towards the back.

Level Of Difficulty

Intermediate. Facing a V-neck, attaching a stand collar exactly to the marked seam line, joining yokes with an offset seam allowance and setting in sleeves.

Fabric Recommendations

Blouse fabrics made from natural or blended fibres.

Additional Supplies

  • Fusible interfacing (collar stand, front neckline facing)
  • 8 decorative beads

Cutter's Must

When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

  • From main fabric:
    • Back - 1 piece with fold
    • Front yoke - 2 pieces
    • Front - 1 piece with fold
    • Sleeve – 2 pieces
    • Collar stand – 2 pieces
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Collar stand – 1 piece
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
  2. Stitch bust darts, press allowances upwards.
  3. Overlock the outer edge of the front neckline facing. Place the facing on the front, right sides together, and stitch the neckline edge. Clip allowances, turn the facing to the wrong side, and press.
  4. Attach the yoke to the front (the yoke edge is longer than the front edge by the seam allowance width), press allowances upwards and overlock.
  5. Stitch side and shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and overlock.
  6. Place collar stand pieces right sides together and stitch along the outer contour. Start and end the stitching strictly at the marked seam line for attachment. Clip allowances at curves. Turn the finished collar stand right side out and press.
  7. Attach the outer of the collar stand to the neckline, press allowances towards the collar stand. Turn under the raw edge of the inner collar stand and topstitch into the attachment seam.
  8. Overlock the raw edge of the sleeve hem, fold inwards, and topstitch. Stitch sleeve seams, press allowances towards the back and overlock. Set sleeves into armholes, matching notches, press allowances and overlock.
  9. Fold the garment hem inwards by 1 cm, then by 1.5 cm, and topstitch.
  10. Sew decorative beads onto the seam where the front yoke is attached.
