Fabric & Materials

FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: skirt fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; 1 concealed zipper; buckle.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS ARE WITHOUT SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED. WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Back panel – 1 piece on fold
    • Front panel – 1 piece on fold
    • Back panel facing – 1 piece
    • Front panel facing – 1 piece
    • Waistband – 1 piece
  • FROM FUSIBLE INTERFACING:
    • Back panel facing – 1 piece
    • Front panel facing – 1 piece
    • Waistband – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
  2. Overcast the left side edges separately on each piece. Stitch the left side seam from the zipper mark to the bottom. Press seam allowances open. Insert the zipper. Stitch the right side edge, overcast and press seam allowances open.
  3. Stitch the right side edge of the facings, press seam allowances open. Overcast the lower edge. Place the facing on the skirt right sides together and stitch the upper edge. Topstitch seam allowances to the facing 0.2 cm from the stitching line. Fold the facing to the wrong side, press. Fold the side edges of the facing and sew to the zipper tape.
  4. Overcast the lower edge of the skirt, press to the wrong side and hem with blind stitches.
  5. Stitch the pleats on the skirt from the wrong side according to the marks.
  6. Overcast one long edge of the belt loop. Fold the belt loop into three layers and topstitch along the long sides. Cut the belt loop into 4 pieces. Topstitch the belt loops onto the skirt according to the technical drawing.
  7. Fold the waistband in half lengthwise right sides together and stitch along three sides, leaving an opening for turning. Trim seam allowances at corners, turn the waistband right side out and press. Close the opening. Thread the end of the waistband through the buckle.
