Stright Skirt Curved Yoke Princess Seams

FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: dense fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; 1 concealed zipper.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance – 4 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED. WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

• From main fabric:
  • Central back panel – 2 pieces
  • Side back panel – 2 pieces
  • Side front panel – 2 pieces
  • Central front panel – 1 piece on fold
  • Back yoke – 4 pieces
  • Front yoke – 2 pieces
• FROM FUSIBLE INTERFACING:
  • Back yoke – 2 pieces
  • Front yoke – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

1. Interface the inner yokes with fusible interfacing.
2. Stitch the princess seams of the back panel, press seam allowances towards the center and overcast. Stitch the princess seams of the front panel, press seam allowances towards the center and overcast.
3. Attach the back yoke to the back panel, press seam allowances upwards and overcast. Attach the front yoke to the front panel, press seam allowances upwards and overcast.
4. Overcast the center back edges of the back panel separately on each piece. Stitch the center seam from the zipper mark to the slit mark. Press seam allowances open, pressing the slit. Insert the zipper.
5. Stitch the side seams, press seam allowances towards the back and overcast.
6. Stitch the side seams of the inner yokes (hereinafter - facings), press seam allowances open. Overcast the bottom edge. Place the facing and skirt right sides together and stitch the top edge. Topstitch seam allowances to the facing 0.2 cm from the stitching line. Fold the facing to the wrong side, press. Fold the center edges of the facing and sew to the zipper tape. Topstitch the facing into the seam of the outer yoke attachment.
7. Overcast the bottom edge of the skirt, press to the wrong side and hem with blind stitches. Hem the slit allowances with blind stitches.
