Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse the waistband piece with fusible interfacing.
  2. On the front panel, create pleats: fold the piece wrong sides together along the marked lines, direct the pleat depths towards the center, and secure them along the upper edge.
  3. Back panel_1: stitch darts, press depths towards the center. Back panel_3: create pleats similar to the front panel.
  4. Overlock the center back edge separately on each piece. Stitch the center seam from the zipper mark to the bottom, press seam allowances open. Insert the zipper.
  5. Place pocket bags onto the right side of the front and back panels, right side down, aligning with notches. Stitch pocket bags to the pocket opening allowances. Stitch side seams, simultaneously stitching the pocket bags, press seam allowances towards the back and overlock.
  6. Fold the waistband lengthwise in half, right sides together, and stitch the short sides and the transitional end. Clip allowances at the mark, turn the waistband right side out and press. Stitch the outer side of the waistband to the skirt, fold the allowance of the inner side inwards and topstitch into the attaching seam.
  7. Overlock the bottom edge of the skirt, press to the wrong side and hem with blind stitches.
  8. Overlock the buttonhole on the waistband and sew on the button.
