A graceful and comfortable tunic pattern featuring a relaxed, flared silhouette and a distinctive layered front hem.
This versatile tunic is perfect for adding a touch of casual elegance to your wardrobe, making it an excellent choice for:
Silhouette: a relaxed, flared silhouette that drapes gracefully, with a high-low hemline.
Neckline: a gentle scoop neckline finished with a self-fabric bias binding.
Front Details: a stitched pleat at the center of the outer front forms a mock placket trimmed with four decorative buttons; there is no opening.
Sleeves: Three-quarter length set-in sleeves, edged with contrast bias binding.
Hem: a layered front: the shorter outer front sits over a longer inner front in contrast or coordinating fabric that peeks out beneath it. The hem edges of the outer front and back are bound with contrast bias binding.
Back: The back is cut in one piece on the fold and flares gently into a curved hem.
Closure: Pullover style, no fastenings.
Intermediate. Involves working with bias binding for clean finishes, accurately setting sleeves, and constructing a layered front with a stitched pleat.
Choose soft, draping dress fabrics that enhance the tunic's flow, in contrasting or complementary colors for the layered front:
If the patterns have a double contour, seam allowances are included. If the contour is single, the patterns are without seam allowances. Seam allowances: all seams 1 cm; hem allowance for the back hem, outer front hem and sleeve hem – 0 cm; hem allowance for the inner front hem – 2 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match! Markings on the patterns are on the right side!
