A women's pull-on top in woven blouse fabric, with one-piece raglan sleeves in three-quarter length, panel seams at the front and back, two pockets on the side front panels and a curved hem.

When To Wear

  • In spring, summer and early autumn with trousers, jeans or a straight skirt.
  • For everyday and office wear.

Key Design Features

Silhouette: Semi-fitted, shaped by panel seams and darts on the front pieces.

Length: To the hip, with a hem that curves down towards the centre front and centre back.

Neckline: Round neckline without opening, finished with a folded bias strip turned to the inside and topstitched along its fold.

Sleeves: Three-quarter one-piece raglan sleeves; the sleeve seam is stitched together with the side seam.

Front: Centre front cut on the fold, with two side front panels; the panel seams run from the raglan seam to the hem.

Pockets: Each pocket piece is folded along a marked line, laid on the side front panel and caught in the panel and side seams; the folded upper edge is the pocket opening.

Back: Centre back cut on the fold and two side back panels, with panel seams from the raglan seam to the hem.

Finishing: Panel seams pressed towards the centre; hems of the body and sleeves turned up 1.2 cm and topstitched.

Level Of Difficulty

Beginner. Straight raglan and panel seams, pockets caught in the seams and a bias-bound neckline; no closures.

Fabric Recommendations

Blouse fabrics of natural or blended fibres.

Additional Supplies

  • Bias binding 4 cm wide, neckline length plus 5 cm (or cut from the main fabric)

Cutter's Must

If the patterns have a double contour, they include seam allowances. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: all seams 1 cm; hem allowance for the bottom edge of the garment and sleeve - 1.2 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) to determine how much material you will need (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

  • From main fabric:
    • Center Back – 1 piece on fold
    • Side Back – 2 pieces
    • Side Front – 2 pieces
    • Center Front – 1 piece on fold
    • Sleeve – 2 pieces
    • Pocket – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

  1. Stitch the darts on the front pieces and press them upwards. Fold each Pocket along the marked line, right side out, and press. Place the Pocket on the Side Front and baste it along the side and lower edges. From now on treat them as one piece.
  2. Stitch the panel seams of the back and front. Overlock the seam allowances and press them towards the center.
  3. Stitch the Sleeves to the back, press the seam allowances towards the back and overlock. Stitch the Sleeves to the front, press the seam allowances towards the front and overlock.
  4. Stitch the side seams and sleeve seams in one continuous seam, press the seam allowances and overlock.
  5. If you are not using ready-made binding, cut a bias strip 4 cm wide and the length of the neckline + 5 cm. Fold the binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding on the right side of the neckline, raw edges matching, and stitch. Clip the seam allowances. Turn the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along its fold to the top. Press the seam.
  6. Overlock the hem allowances of the top and sleeves, press them to the wrong side and topstitch.
