CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: All seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the bottom of the garment and sleeve hem – 2 cm. Allowance for the upper edge of the pocket – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED. WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Back – 1 piece on fold
    • Front – 1 piece on fold
    • Placket – 4 pieces
    • Sleeve – 2 pieces
    • Shoulder tab – 2 pieces
    • Pocket – 2 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Placket – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

  1. Reinforce details with fusible interfacing.
  2. Stitch darts on the front and back. Press shoulder and waist dart depths towards the center, bust darts – upwards.
  3. Overlock the allowance of the upper edge of the pocket, press to the wrong side and topstitch. Overlock the side and bottom edges of the pocket, press to the wrong side. Place pockets on the front according to markings and topstitch.
  4. Placket processing: Left side. Fold placket pieces right sides together and stitch the outer edge. Turn the piece to the right side, straighten, press. Attach the outer edge of the placket to the front, ending the stitching exactly at the marked seam for attaching the bottom edge. Press allowances towards the placket, clip at the corner. Fold the allowance of the inner side of the placket inwards and topstitch into the seam of attaching the upper part. Right side. Fold placket pieces right sides together and stitch the outer edge and corner. End the stitching strictly at the marked placket attachment line. Turn the piece to the right side, straighten, press. Attach the outer edge of the placket to the front, clip allowances at the corner. Fold the allowance of the inner side of the placket inwards and topstitch into the seam of attaching the upper part. Create and secure the inverted pleat on the front. Tuck the end of the left placket inwards and stitch, securing the bottom edge. Place the right placket over the left and topstitch the bottom corner to the front.
  5. Stitch shoulder and side seams, press allowances towards the back and overlock.
  6. Cut a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the neckline length of the back and front + 3 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise right side out and press. Place the binding with the neckline edge right sides together and stitch, turning under the ends. Clip allowances. Fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold to the main piece. Press the seam.
  7. Fold the shoulder tab in half lengthwise right sides together and stitch along the long side and corner. Turn the shoulder tab to the right side, straighten, press. Topstitch along the contour 0.1 cm from the edge. Place the shoulder tab on the shoulder seam and secure it at the armhole edge.
  8. Stitch the sleeve seam, press allowances and overlock. Set sleeves into armholes, press allowances and overlock.
  9. Press the hem allowance of the dress and sleeve 1 cm, then another 1 cm and topstitch.
  10. On the right placket, overlock buttonholes, on the left placket, sew on buttons. Sew buttons on the shoulder tabs, securing them to the shoulder seam.
