Also, duplicate the back armhole seam allowances, the garment hem, and the sleeve hem.
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse fusible interfacing to the pattern pieces.
- Stitch the shoulder darts on the back. Press the fullness towards the center. Stitch the back panel seams, press seam allowances open. Stitch the center back seam. Press the seam allowance open.
- Stitch the upper and middle front PANELs, press seam allowances upwards. Stitch the lower and middle front PANELs, press seam allowances open. Form and secure the pleats on the middle front.
- Stitch the coat shoulder seams simultaneously with the integrated stand collar seam. Clip and press seam allowances open.
- Stitch the side seams. Press seam allowances open.
- Stitch the center seam of the back neck facing. Stitch the shoulder seams of the front facings and facing, simultaneously with the stand collar seam. Press seam allowances open.
- Fold the Bow in half lengthwise and stitch along the two short sides. Trim seam allowances at the corners and turn right side out. Form and secure arbitrary pleats.
- Press up the hem allowance. Place the front facing onto the right side of the front, right side down, and stitch around the front edges and the stand collar edge, inserting the bow detail (on the right front), hooks, and loops according to markings. Stitch the lower edge of the front facing to the front precisely along the marked hemline, stopping 1.5 cm before the inner edge of the front facing. Clip seam allowances at the corners, turn the front edges and stand collar right side out, and smooth the seams.
- Stitch and press open the sleeve elbow seam. Press up the sleeve hem. Stitch and press open the sleeve front seam. Set the sleeve into the armhole. Attach shoulder pads.
- On the lining fabric pattern pieces, stitch the seams, leaving an opening in the left side seam for turning. Set in the sleeves. Stitch the lining to the front facings and facing.
- Stitch the lining to the garment hem and sleeve hem. Turn the coat right side out through the opening. Close the opening.
- Fold the Bridge in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch along the long side. Turn the piece right side out, smooth it, centering the seam.
- On the Loop piece, overlock one longitudinal edge. Press the unoverlock edge inwards, covering it with the overlock edge. Topstitch along the edge.
- Place the Loop onto the Bridge, overlock the open edges. Press the overlock edges to the wrong side, place the detail onto the front and topstitch, overlapping the seams where the middle front was attached.
- Sew snap fasteners onto the bow, and sew the corresponding parts onto the middle front.
