Attention: The back and front Side pieces from the lining fabric are cut subtracting the width of the back Neckline Facing and back Hem Facing respectively.
From fusible interfacing: Facing, back Neckline Facing, back Hem Facing, front Center, front Side, sleeve hem.
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse interfacing to the pieces. Along the neckline of the front, apply an additional fusible stay tape.
- Stitch the dart on the front Center. Press the dart upwards. Attach Yoke 1 and Yoke 2 to the right front. Press seam allowances open. Stitch and press open the panel seam on the front.
- Stitch the dart on the back Center. Stitch and press open the panel seams on the back. Stitch and press open the center back seam. Stitch and press open the shoulder and side seams of the jacket.
- Stitch and press open the shoulder seams of the back Neckline Facing and the Facing. Attach the back Hem Facing to the Facings. Press seams open.
- Place the Facing with its facing onto the right side of the front, right side down, pin, and stitch the front edge, front neckline, back neckline, and the bottom of the jacket. Stitching is done from the front side. Topstitch the seam allowance of the front edge stitching onto the Facing. The stitching should be 0.2 cm from the seam.
- Stitch and press open the elbow seam of the sleeve, easing the upper of the sleeve and matching the notches. Press the sleeve hem. Turn back the hem allowance, stitch and press open the front seam of the sleeve.
- Set the sleeves into the armholes according to the notches, easing the sleeve cap at the top. Attach shoulder pads.
- On the lining fabric pieces, stitch the seams and set in the sleeves, leaving an opening for turning in the left elbow seam. Attach the lining to the inner edges of the Facings and facings.
- Attach the lining to the sleeve hem. Turn the jacket right side out. Stitch the technical opening closed.
- On the right front, make a buttonhole; on the left front, sew on a button.
- Fold and secure the pleats on the decorative collar with blind stitches from the wrong side.
