- From lining fabric:
- Front center – 2 pieces
- Front side - 2 pieces
- Back center – 2 pieces
- Back side – 2 pieces
- Sleeve upper – 2 pieces
- Sleeve lower – 2 pieces
Attention: front and back lining pieces are cut according to the main pattern pieces, subtracting the width of the front facings and the back neck facing, respectively.
From fusible interfacing: front center, front facing, back neck facing, hem and sleeve hem.
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
- On the back center, stitch and press darts towards the center. Stitch and press darts upwards on the front center. Stitch and press open the princess seams on the front and back. Stitch and press open the center back seam.
- Stitch and press open the jacket side seams. Stitch shoulder seams, clip into the corner at the neckline, press seams open. Stitch the collar edge, press seams open. Attach the collar to the back neckline, press seams open.
- Stitch, clip into the corner, and press open the shoulder seams of the back neck facing and front facing. Stitch the collar edge, press seams open. Attach the collar to the facing neckline, press seams open.
- Place the front facing on the right side of the front, right side down, pin, and stitch around the front edge and the collar stand. Stitch the lower corners of the front edge. Trim seams at corners. Turn the front edges right side out, shape seams, press. Press up the garment hem.
- Stitch and press open the sleeve elbow seam. Press up the sleeve hem. Stitch and press open the sleeve front seam.
- Set sleeves into armholes, matching notches, easing the cap. Insert shoulder pads and sleeve heads.
- On the lining fabric pieces, stitch seams and set sleeves, leaving an opening in the right front sleeve seam.
- Attach the lining to the inner edges of the front facings and the back neck facing. Secure the collar attachment seam allowances close to the seams. Attach the lining to the jacket hem and the sleeve hem. Turn the jacket right side out through the opening in the sleeve. Stitch the opening in the sleeve closed.
- According to markings, make buttonholes on both front panels. On the left front, sew a decorative button. On the right front, sew: a decorative button on the right side, and an inner button on the wrong side.
