Attention: front and back lining pieces are cut according to the main pattern pieces, subtracting the width of the facings and the back neckline facing, respectively.
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
- On the back, stitch and press darts towards the center. Stitch and press open the princess seams on the front and back. Stitch and press open the center back seam.
- Stitch and press open the side seam allowances of the jacket. Stitch shoulder seam allowances, clip at the corner, press open seam allowances. Stitch the collar edge, press open seam allowances. Attach the collar to the neckline, press open seam allowances.
- Stitch and press open the side seam allowances of the lower back and front. Process lining pieces similarly. Place the main piece with the lining and stitch the lower edge. Clip seam allowances at curves, turn right side out, press. Attach the lower of the jacket to the upper (facing seam allowances extend by 1 cm).
- Stitch, clip at the corner, and press open the shoulder seam allowances of the back neckline facing and the facing. Stitch the collar edge, press open seam allowances. Attach the collar to the neckline of the facing, press open seam allowances.
- Place the facing on the right side of the front, right side down, pin, and stitch around the front edge and the collar outer edge. Clip seam allowances at curves. Turn facings out, straighten seams, press.
- Stitch and press open the elbow seam of the sleeve. Press up the sleeve hem. Stitch and press open the front seam of the sleeve.
- Set the sleeves into the armholes, matching notches, easing the sleeve cap. Insert shoulder pads and sleeve heads.
- On the lining fabric pieces, stitch seams and set in sleeves, leaving an opening in the front right sleeve seam.
- Attach the lining to the inner edges of the facings and the back neckline facing. Turn the facings with the lining to the wrong side and stitch to the jacket, positioning the lower between the main fabric and the lining. Attach the lining to the sleeve hem. Turn the jacket right side out through the opening in the sleeve. Secure the collar attachment seam allowances close to the seams. Stitch the opening in the sleeve closed.
- On the right front, make a buttonhole, and on the left front, sew on a button.
