Fabric recommendations: dense dress fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. Denim. ALSO NEEDED: fusible interfacing; separable zipper.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm; hem allowance – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).

  • From main fabric:
    • Center back part - 2 pieces
    • Middle back part - 2 pieces
    • Side back part - 2 pieces
    • Center front part - 2 pieces
    • Middle front part - 2 pieces
    • Side front part - 2 pieces
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Front neckline facing – 2 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Front neckline facing – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  1. Fuse interfacing to the neckline facing pieces.
  2. Stitch the back princess seams, press allowances towards the center, serge. Topstitch along the seams at 0.7 cm.
  3. Stitch the center back seam, press allowances to the left side, serge. Topstitch along the seam at 0.7 cm.
  4. Serge the center edges of the front center pieces. Insert the separable zipper. Topstitch along the zipper at 0.5 cm to secure.
  5. Stitch the front princess seams, press allowances towards the center, serge. Topstitch along the seams at 0.7 cm.
  6. Stitch the shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and serge.
  7. Stitch the shoulder seams of the neckline facings, press allowances open. Serge the outer edge. Place the facing and garment right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Clip allowances at curves, turn facings to the wrong side and press. Secure to shoulder seams and zipper tape.
  8. Cut (if not ready-made) bias binding 4 cm wide and length equal to armhole length + 4 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding with the edge of the right armhole, right sides together, and stitch, then fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold to the main piece.
  9. Stitch the side and shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and serge.
  10. Serge the hem allowance, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
