This versatile dress is designed for both professional and smart casual wear, making it an ideal choice for:
Silhouette: a classic fit-and-flare silhouette, shaped through the bodice and waist, then gracefully flowing into a full, pleated skirt.
Neckline & Collar: Features a sophisticated crossover V-neckline framed by a broad, structured shawl collar that wraps elegantly around the neck.
Closure: a discreet invisible zipper is incorporated into the left side seam for a seamless finish.
Sleeves: Three-quarter length set-in sleeves provide a polished and versatile arm coverage.
Waist: Defined by a horizontal seam, enhancing the hourglass fit before the skirt flares out.
Bodice: Structured with vertical seams in both the front and back for a tailored and flattering fit.
Skirt: a full, knee-length a-line skirt, created by the attachment of lower panels to the bodice, offering elegant movement.
Back: Features a paneled bodice leading to a full, flared skirt, mirroring the front's elegant silhouette.
Intermediate. Requires confident sewing skills, including structured collar construction, paneled garment assembly, and invisible zipper insertion.
Choose woven dress fabrics with some body to support the silhouette:
If the patterns have a double contour, they include seam allowances. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: all seams 1 cm; hem allowance for the garment bottom and sleeve – 2 cm. Attention! First of all, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) to determine how much material you will need (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match! Attention! Before cutting, make sure that the lower front piece fits across the width.
