Pattern #2611
Tech. Description

Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; 6 buttons.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST OF ALL, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Back – 1 piece with fold
    • Upper front part – 1 piece with fold
    • Lower front part – 1 piece with fold
    • Collar – 2 pieces
    • Placket – 4 pieces
    • Cuff – 2 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Placket – 2 pieces
    • Collar – 1 piece
    • Cuff – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

  1. Interface the pieces with fusible interfacing.
  2. Stitch the front princess seam. Overlock the allowances and press them upwards.
  3. Overlock the side seams separately. Stitch the side seams from the bottom to the sleeve slit mark. Topstitch along the slit 0.2 cm from the edge.
  4. Stitch the right shoulder seam. Press the allowances towards the back and overlock.
  5. On the left shoulder seams of the front and back, mark the placket attachment lines. Add a 1 cm allowance to them, trim off excess. Stitch the left shoulder seam. Overlock the allowances and press them towards the back.
  6. Fold the placket pieces right sides together and stitch the outer edge and the neckline edge. Turn right side out and press. Overlock the long and short edges of the plackets. Attach the plackets to the right side of the front and back, stopping 1 cm from the bottom. Clip the front and back allowance at the corner, stopping 1 mm from the stitching.
  7. Overlap the front placket onto the back placket, and topstitch the corner onto the ends of the plackets.
  8. Fold the collar pieces right sides together, stitch the ends and the outer edge. Trim the allowances at the corners. Turn the collar right side out, shape it, and press. Attach the outer collar to the neckline, fold under the raw edge of the inner collar and topstitch into the attachment seam.
  9. Stitch the cuff in half lengthwise, right sides together. Stitch the short edges. Trim the allowances, turn right side out, and press. Attach the outer side of the cuff to the sleeve, fold the allowance of the inner side of the cuff inwards and topstitch into the attachment seam of the outer cuff.
  10. Overlock the bottom edge of the garment. Press the allowance to the wrong side and topstitch.
  11. Make buttonholes and sew buttons onto the placket and cuffs.
