Asymmetrical Button Front Puffed Sleeve Blouse

Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: blouse or dress fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; 2 buttons. IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm; hem allowance – 2.0 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH! ATTENTION! Markings on the patterns are made on the right side!

CUTTER'S MUST

• From main fabric:
  • Back - 1 piece on fold
  • Front - 1 piece
  • Back sleeve part - 2 pieces
  • Front sleeve part - 2 pieces
  • Collar – 2 pieces
  • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
  • Front neckline facing – 1 piece
• From fusible interfacing:
  • Collar – 1 piece
  • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
  • Front neckline facing – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

1. Stitch darts on the front piece, press allowances upwards.
2. Fold the front piece right sides together, aligning the pleat lines, and stitch the upper corner. Turn the pleat to the right side, lay it towards the left side edge.
3. Fold collar pieces right sides together and stitch the outer edge and lower end. Clip allowances, trim corner, turn collar to the right side, press. Place collar on the front piece and secure along the shoulder edge and neckline edge.
4. Stitch shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and serge.
5. Stitch shoulder edges of neckline facings, press allowances open. Serge outer edge. Place facing right sides together with the garment and stitch the neckline edge. Clip allowances on curves, turn facings to the wrong side and press. Secure facings to shoulder seams.
6. Stitch side edges, press allowances towards the back and serge.
7. Stitch sleeve seam, press allowances towards the back part and serge. Serge lower edges of sleeves, press to the wrong side and topstitch. Along the upper edge of the back sleeve part, make a basting stitch with loosened upper thread and gather. Place the back sleeve part on the front, aligning marks, and secure along the armhole.
8. Set sleeves into armholes, press allowances and serge.
9. Hem the bottom of the garment by turning it twice by 1 cm to the wrong side and topstitch.
10. Sew buttons to the upper corner of the pleat, securing it to the front piece.
