FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; 2 buttons. IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THE PATTERNS INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES; IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: Hem allowance – 2.5 cm; other seams – 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
CUTTER'S MUST
- From main fabric:
- Back - 1 piece with a fold
- Front - 1 piece with a fold
- Sleeve – 2 pieces
- Lapel — 2 pieces
- Back neckline facing – 1 piece
- Cuff – 2 pieces
- From fusible interfacing:
- Lapel — 2 pieces
- Back neckline facing – 1 piece
- Cuff – 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
- Reinforce pieces with fusible interfacing.
- Stitch bust darts, press depths upwards.
- Overlock the outer edges of the lapels. Place lapels on the front, right sides together, and stitch the outer edge. Clip allowances, trim corners. Also, clip the front allowance at the corners of the pleat, overlock the front allowance. Turn lapels to the wrong side, straighten, press. Form the pleat, aligning center lines. Stitch a securing line along the top of the pleat.
- Overlock the outer edge of the back neckline facing. Place the neckline facing on the back and stitch the neckline edge exactly to the marked shoulder seam line. Clip allowances, turn facing to the wrong side and press.
- Stitch shoulder seams, inserting the front between the back and the facing, press allowances towards the back and overlock.
- Stitch side seams, press allowances towards the back and overlock.
- Overlock sleeve edges separately. Stitch the sleeve seam from the armhole to the slit mark, press allowances open. Topstitch the slit 0.1 cm from the fold. Set sleeves into armholes, press allowances and overlock. Along the bottom edge of the sleeve, stitch with loosened upper thread and gather.
- Fold the cuff in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch side edges. Turn the piece to the right side, press. Attach the outer side of the cuff to the sleeve, fold the allowance of the inner side of the cuff inwards and topstitch into the seam of attaching the outer cuff.
- Fold the bottom edge of the garment inwards by 1 cm, then by 1.5 cm and topstitch.
- Overlock buttonholes and sew buttons on the cuffs.
