Fabric & Materials

FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: knit fusible interfacing, 4 buttons.

CUTTER'S MUST

SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance – 2.0 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Back – 1 piece on fold
    • Front – 2 pieces
    • Yoke – 2 pieces
    • Placket – 4 pieces
    • Neckline facing - 2 pieces
    • Cuff – 2 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Placket – 2 pieces
    • Cuff – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
  2. Along the upper shoulder edge of the front piece, between the marks, stitch with a loosened upper thread and gather. Attach the yoke to the front, press seam allowances upwards and overcast. Stitch the shoulder seam, press seam allowances towards the back and overcast.
  3. Fold placket pieces right sides together and stitch the outer edge, clip seam allowances, turn right side out, straighten, press. Attach the outer placket to the right side of the front piece. Fold the seam allowance of the inner placket inwards and topstitch into the seam of the outer placket attachment.
  4. Fold neckline facing pieces right sides together and stitch the outer edge. Clip seam allowances, turn facing right side out, straighten, press. Stitch the outer side of the facing to the neckline, press seam allowances towards the facing. Fold the seam allowance of the inner side of the facing and topstitch into the seam of the outer side attachment.
  5. Fold the cuff in half lengthwise, right side in, and press. Place the cuff on the wrong side of the sleeve and stitch. Turn the cuff onto the integrated sleeve, secure the seam allowances under the armhole and press.
  6. Stitch the side seam simultaneously with the sleeve seam, securing the cuffs. Attach the cuff to the shoulder seam and yoke.
  7. Overcast the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
  8. Overcast buttonholes and sew on buttons.
