Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
  2. Stitch darts on the upper back piece, press allowances towards the center. Attach the back insert to the upper back piece, press allowances towards the insert and serge.
  3. Along the upper edge of the lower back piece, stitch with a loosened thread and gather. Attach the lower back piece to the back insert, press allowances upwards and serge.
  4. Stitch darts on the left and right upper front pieces, press allowances towards the centers. Attach the front inserts to the upper front pieces, press allowances towards the inserts and serge.
  5. Along the upper edges of the left and right lower front pieces, stitch with a loosened thread and gather. Attach the lower front pieces to the front inserts, press allowances upwards and serge.
  6. Serge the outer and lower edges of the front neckline facings. Place the front neckline facing pieces with the left and right upper front pieces right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Turn the facings to the wrong side, straighten, and press.
  7. Stitch the left and right front pieces together, press allowances, and serge. Create a pleat from the right front piece, aligning the center lines. Stitch a decorative-securing stitch along the width of the pleat.
  8. Serge the outer edge of the back neckline facing. Place the neckline facing on the back and stitch the neckline edge precisely up to the marked shoulder seam line. Clip allowances, turn the facing to the wrong side and press.
  9. Stitch the shoulder seams, inserting the front piece between the back and the facing, press allowances towards the back and serge.
  10. Cut (if not ready-made) a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length + 4 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding with the armhole edge right sides together and stitch. Fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold to the main piece. Press the seam.
  11. Serge the left side edges separately, stitch from the armhole to the first mark and from the second mark to the bottom, press allowances open. Insert the zipper. Stitch the right side seam, press allowances towards the back and serge.
  12. Serge the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
