CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: Hem allowance – 2 cm; other seams – 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Center back part - 2 pieces
    • Side back part - 2 pieces
    • Center front part - 2 pieces
    • Side front part - 2 pieces
    • Collar stand – 2 pieces
    • Front facing – 2 pieces
    • Back neckline facing - 1 piece
  • From lining fabric:
    • Center back part - 2 pieces
    • Side back part - 2 pieces
    • Front lining - 2 pieces

    Attention! Center back lining pieces are cut by subtracting the width of the back neckline facing.

  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Center front part - 2 pieces
    • Collar stand – 1 piece
    • Front facing – 2 pieces
    • Back neckline facing - 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
  2. Stitch the back princess seams, press allowances towards the center. Stitch the center back seam, press allowances open.
  3. Stitch the front princess seams, press allowances towards the center.
  4. Stitch the side and shoulder seams, press allowances open.
  5. Place collar stand pieces right sides together and stitch along the ends and outer edge. Trim allowances at corners, clip at the mark. Turn collar stand right side out, shape, and press. Attach collar stand to the neckline, clipping front allowances at corners.
  6. Stitch shoulder seams of front facings and back neckline facing, press allowances open.
  7. Place front facings and front right sides together and stitch along the front edge, neckline, and lower corner, stopping 1.5 cm before the edge of the front facing. Trim allowances at corners, clip curves. Turn front edges right side out, shape seams, press.
  8. On lining pieces, stitch darts and seams, leaving an opening in the left side seam. Attach lining to the inner edges of the front facings and neckline facing. Finish armholes with lining in two steps: first the front armhole, then the back armhole.
  9. Press the lower edge of the garment to the wrong side. Attach lining to the bottom of the garment. Turn the vest right side out through the opening. Close the opening. Stitch a topstitch along the lower edge to secure.
  10. Make buttonholes on the right front, sew buttons on the left front.
