Cutter's Must
If the patterns have a double contour, seam allowances are included. If the contour is single, the patterns are without seam allowances. Seam allowances: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the bottom of the garment – 2 cm. Hem allowance for the bottom of the sleeve – 1.5 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need. When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!
- From main fabric:
- Upper Back – 1 piece on fold
- Center Back – 1 piece on fold
- Side Back – 2 pieces
- Upper Front – 2 pieces
- Center Front – 2 pieces
- Side Front – 2 pieces
- Sleeve – 2 pieces
- Center Front Facing – 2 pieces
- Back Neckline Facing – 1 piece
- From fusible interfacing:
- Center Front Facing – 2 pieces
- Back Neckline Facing – 1 piece
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse interfacing to the Center Front Facings and Back Neckline Facing.
- Stitch the back princess seams (Center Back to Side Backs), press the allowances towards the center and overlock. Attach the Upper Back to the assembled lower back, press the allowances upwards and overlock.
- Stitch the front princess seams (Center Fronts to Side Fronts), press the allowances towards the center and overlock. Along the lower edge of each Upper Front, sew a line of stitching with loosened upper thread tension and gather. Stitch the Upper Fronts to the assembled lower fronts, press the allowances upwards and overlock.
- Cut the tape to the shoulder length (indicated on the back pattern piece) + 2 cm for allowances. Along the shoulder edges of the back and fronts, sew a line of stitching with loosened upper thread tension and gather. Stitch the shoulder seams, inserting the tape, press the allowances towards the back and overlock.
- Stitch the side seams, press the allowances towards the back and overlock.
- Stitch the shoulder seams of the Center Front Facings and Back Neckline Facing, press the allowances open. Overlock the outer edge.
- Place the facings on the garment right sides together and stitch along the back neckline and the front edges. Clip the allowances at the curves, turn the facings to the wrong side, smooth out, and press.
- Stitch the sleeve seam, press the allowances towards the back and overlock. Set the sleeves into the armholes, press the allowances and overlock.
- Overlock the lower sleeve edge, press the hem allowance to the wrong side and topstitch, forming a casing. Insert the elastic tape into the casing and secure.
- Press the hem allowance of the garment to the wrong side by 1 cm, then another 1 cm, and topstitch.
- Make buttonholes on the right front. Sew the buttons onto the left front.
