Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing, 1 cm wide elastic tape, nylon ribbon or tape, 6 buttons.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS ARE WITHOUT SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the bottom of the garment – 2 cm. Hem allowance for the bottom of the sleeve – 1.5 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED. WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Upper back part – 1 piece with fold
    • Central back part – 1 piece with fold
    • Side back part – 2 pieces
    • Upper front part – 2 pieces
    • Central front part – 2 pieces
    • Side front part – 2 pieces
    • Sleeve – 2 pieces
    • Front facing – 2 pieces
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Front facing – 2 pieces
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
  2. Stitch the back princess seams, press allowances towards the center and overcast. Attach the upper back part to the lower back part, press allowances upwards and overcast.
  3. Stitch the front princess seams, press allowances towards the center and overcast. Along the lower edge of the upper front part, stitch with a loosened upper thread and gather. Stitch the upper and lower front parts, press allowances upwards and overcast.
  4. Cut the tape to the shoulder length (indicated on the back pattern piece) + 2 cm for allowances. Along the shoulder edge of the back and front, stitch with a loosened upper thread and gather. Stitch the shoulder seams, inserting the tape, press allowances towards the back and overcast.
  5. Stitch the side seams, press allowances towards the back and overcast.
  6. Stitch the shoulder seams of the front facings and back neckline facing, press allowances open. Overcast the outer edge.
  7. Place the front facings with the garment right sides together and stitch the back neckline and front edges. Clip allowances at the curve, turn the front facings to the wrong side, smooth out, and press.
  8. Stitch the sleeve seam, press allowances towards the back and overcast. Set the sleeves into the armholes, press allowances and overcast.
  9. Overcast the allowance of the lower sleeve edge, press to the wrong side and topstitch, forming a casing. Insert elastic tape into the casing, secure.
  10. Press the hem allowance of the garment to the wrong side by 1 cm, then another 1 cm, and topstitch.
  11. Overcast buttonholes on the right front. Sew buttons on the left front.
