Draped V-Neck Cropped Blouse

Pattern #2575
Tech. Description

Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: well-draping blouse fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. ALSO NEEDED: invisible zipper.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: All seams 1 cm. Hem allowance - 3 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Back – 2 pieces
    • Front – 1 piece on fold
    • Collar – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

  1. Stitch darts on back pieces. Trim seam allowances with an overlocker and press towards the center. Finish the raw edges of the center back seam separately with an overlocker. Stitch the center back seam from the top to the zipper mark. Press seam allowance open. Insert the zipper. (The slider of the closed zipper should be at the bottom).
  2. Stitch darts on front pieces. Trim seam allowances with an overlocker and press towards the center.
  3. Stitch shoulder seams. Finish seam allowances with an overlocker and press towards the back.
  4. Fold collars right sides together and stitch the outer edge. Turn collars right side out and press. Overlap the left collar piece over the right and secure along the bottom edges. Attach the collar to the neckline, clipping seam allowances at the corner. Finish seam allowances with an overlocker and press towards the collar.
  5. Cut (if not ready-made) a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length + 4 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding along the armhole edge, right side together, and stitch. Fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold onto the main piece. Press the seam.
  6. Stitch side seams. Finish seam allowances with an overlocker and press towards the back.
  7. Finish the raw edge of the hem allowance, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.
