Sewing Instructions
- Stitch shoulder seams of outer and inner yokes. Press seam allowances open. Place yokes right sides together and stitch neckline. Clip seam allowances, turn right side out and press. Then treat as one piece.
- Stitch darts on front pieces. Press dart intake upwards.
- Overlock the outer edge of the placket, fold the allowance inwards and topstitch. Alternatively, the edge can be finished with ready-made bias binding, after trimming the allowance. Along the top edge of the placket, stitch with a loosened upper thread and gather.
- Make a slit on the back piece from the top to the mark. Attach yokes to front and back, inserting the ruffle.
- Stitch side seams. Overlock seam allowances and press towards the back.
- Cut a bias strip 2.5 cm wide and 10 cm long for the loop. Fold the strip in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch 0.3 cm from the fold. Trim seam allowances close to the stitching, turn the strip right side out and straighten the rouleau. Adjust loop length. Sew the loop to the left back yoke.
- Cut a bias binding for the back slit, length equal to double the slit length + 4 cm and width 5 cm. Press the binding in half lengthwise, right side out. Lay the back flat along the slit line, place the binding on the right side, aligning edges, and stitch. Seam width along the slit length 0.5 – 0.7 cm, at the bottom of the slit it decreases to 0.2 cm. Fold the binding to the wrong side, enclosing the seam, and topstitch into the attaching seam.
- Stitch sleeve seam. Overlock allowance and press towards the back. Set sleeves into armholes. Overlock allowance and press.
- Overlock the bottom edge of the garment and sleeves. Press allowances to the wrong side and topstitch.
- Sew button to the back neckline.
