Fabric & Materials

FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; elastic tape 5 cm wide (approximate length indicated on the side panel pattern piece).

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm; hem allowance – 2.0 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

• From main fabric:
  • Back - 1 piece with fold
  • Front - 1 piece with fold
  • Side panel - 2 pieces
  • Back facing – 1 piece
  • Front facing – 1 piece
• From fusible interfacing:
  • Back facing – 1 piece
  • Front facing – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

1. Fuse interfacing to the relevant pieces.
2. Form and secure the inverted pleat on the front piece.
3. Cut the elastic tape into two parts. Overlock the allowance of the upper edge on the side panel pieces. Press the self-faced facing along the marked line to the wrong side and topstitch, forming a casing. Thread the elastic tape through the casing, securing it along the marked vertical lines.
4. Stitch the side panels to the back, press allowances and overlock. Stitch the side panels to the front, press allowances and overlock.
5. Overlock the lower edges of the back and front facings. Place the back facing onto the back and stitch along the neckline and armhole edges, securing the side pleat. Trim allowances at the corner, turn the facing to the wrong side, straighten, and press. Place the front facing onto the front and stitch along the neckline and armhole edges, securing the side pleat. Trim allowances at the corner, turn the facing to the wrong side, straighten, and press.
6. Stitch the shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and overlock.
7. Turn up the hem of the garment twice by 1 cm to the wrong side and topstitch.
