Fabric & Materials

FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: Blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU ALSO NEED: a concealed zipper, fusible interfacing. IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS ARE WITHOUT SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: All seams 1 cm. Bottom hem allowance – 1.5 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST OF ALL, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH! ATTENTION! MARKINGS ON THE PATTERNS ARE MADE ON THE RIGHT SIDE.

CUTTER'S MUST

• From main fabric:
  • Upper back part – 1 piece on fold
  • Lower back part - 1 piece
  • Upper front part – 1 piece
  • Lower front part – 1 piece
  • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
  • Front neckline facing – 1 piece
  • Insert – 1 piece
• From fusible interfacing:
  • Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
  • Front neckline facing – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

1. Stitch darts on back pieces. Press dart allowances towards the center of the pieces.
2. Attach the lower back part to the upper back part. Overlock the allowance and press it upwards.
3. Stitch the dart on the front piece. Press the dart allowance upwards.
4. On the lower flying part of the front, clip the allowance at the lower pleat mark. Overlock the bias flying part of the front. Fold the allowance inwards and topstitch.
5. Overlock the center edge of the lower front part. Fold the allowance inwards and topstitch. Fold the insert in half lengthwise, right side up, and press. Place the insert on the lower front part, align the edges, and secure along the upper edge.
6. Secure the pleat allowances together. Turn the flying part of the front upwards, fold the upper and lower front parts right sides together, and stitch the waist seam. Overlock the allowance and press it upwards. From the wrong side, attach the bias flying part to the lower front part.
7. Stitch shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and overlock.
8. Stitch shoulder seams of neckline facings. Press allowances open. Overlock the outer edge. Place facing pieces right sides together onto the main garment and stitch the neckline edge. Clip allowances at curves, turn facings to the wrong side, straighten, and press. Topstitch along the neckline 0.5 cm from the edge.
9. Cut (if not ready-made) a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length + 4 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding with the armhole edge right sides together and stitch. Clip allowances. Fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold to the main piece. Press the seam.
10. Overlock the left side edges separately. Stitch the left edge from the armhole to the zipper mark and from the zipper mark to the bottom. Press allowances open. Insert the concealed zipper.
11. Stitch the right side edge, press allowances towards the back and overlock.
12. Overlock the bottom edge of the garment, press it to the wrong side, and topstitch.
