Cutter's Must

When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

  • From main fabric:
    • Back - 1 piece on fold
    • Front - 1 piece on fold
    • Right strap - 1 piece
    • Left back strap - 1 piece
    • Left front strap - 1 piece
    • Back facing - 1 piece
    • Front facing - 1 piece
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Back facing - 1 piece
    • Front facing - 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces. Also fuse the area for eyelets on the left front strap.
  2. Stitch bust darts, press allowances upwards.
  3. Fold the right strap in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch the long side. Turn the strap right side out, straighten, and press.
  4. Cut the decorative trim into two parts. Stitch the front and back left strap at the shoulder seam, inserting the decorative trim, press allowances open. Fold the left strap in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch the long side. Turn the strap right side out, straighten, and press. Punch eyelets according to markings.
  5. Finish the outer edge of the front neckline facing. Place the facing on the front, right side down, and stitch the neckline and armhole area, inserting the straps between the pieces and inserting the decorative trim on the left side. Clip allowances, turn the facing to the wrong side, straighten, and press.
  6. Finish the outer edge of the back neckline facing. Place the facing on the back, right side down, and stitch the neckline and armhole area, inserting the straps between the pieces. Clip allowances, turn the facing to the wrong side, straighten, and press.
  7. Stitch the side seams, press allowances towards the back and finish.
  8. Cut (or use ready-made) bias binding 4 cm wide and equal to the length of the lower armhole + 4 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding on the armhole edge, right side, and stitch. Fold the binding to the wrong side, clip allowances, and topstitch along the fold to the main piece. Press the seam.
  9. Finish the hem allowance, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.
  10. Thread the trim through the eyelets and secure. Attention! Before attaching the straps to the back, be sure to try on the garment and adjust their length!
