Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: dense blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; scalloped lace 8-10cm wide; 6 buttons. IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: Hem allowance – 2 cm; other seams – 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

• From main fabric:
  • Back yoke - 1 piece
  • Center back - 1 piece on fold
  • Side back - 2 pieces
  • Front yoke - 2 pieces
  • Center front - 2 pieces
  • Side front - 2 pieces
  • Upper front facing - 2 pieces
  • Lower front facing – 2 pieces
  • Front facing/Underlap – 2 pieces
• From fusible interfacing:
  • Front facing/Underlap – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
2. Stitch the back princess seams, press allowances towards the center and overcast. Topstitch 0.7 cm from the seam. Attach the yoke to the back, press allowances upwards and overcast. Topstitch 0.7 cm from the seam.
3. Stitch the front princess seams, press allowances towards the center and overcast. Topstitch 0.7 cm from the seam. Attach the yoke to the front, press allowances towards the yoke and overcast. Topstitch 0.7 cm from the seam.
4. Stitch the front facing pieces, press allowances towards the upper part and overcast. Topstitch 0.7 cm from the seam. Attach the facing to the front, press allowances towards the front and overcast. Topstitch 0.7 cm from the seam.
5. Stitch the side and shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and overcast.
6. Cut a strip at a 45-degree angle, approximately 30 cm long and 2.5 cm wide, for the rouleau loops. Fold the strip in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch 0.3 cm from the fold. Trim allowances close to the stitching, turn the strip right side out and straighten the rouleau. Cut into 6 pieces. Adjust the length of the loops. Stitch the loops onto the right front (folds facing away from the edge).
7. Overcast the outer edge of the front facing/underlap. Place the front facing/underlap with the garment, right sides together, and stitch the front edge and neckline. Turn the pieces right side out, straighten, and press.
8. Cut (if not ready-made) a bias strip 4 cm wide and a length equal to the back and front neckline length + 6 cm. Fold the bias strip in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the bias strip with the neckline edge, right sides together, and stitch. Fold the bias strip to the wrong side, clip allowances, and topstitch along the fold onto the main piece. Press the seam.
9. Cut (if not ready-made) a bias strip 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length + 6 cm. Fold the bias strip in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the bias strip with the armhole edge, right sides together, and stitch. Fold the bias strip to the wrong side, clip allowances, and topstitch along the fold onto the main piece. Press the seam.
10. Overcast the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.
11. Sew buttons onto the left front. Topstitch a strip of lace along the bottom edge of the garment according to the technical drawing.
