Fabric & Materials
Fabric recommendations: Medium-stretch knit fabric made from natural or blended fibers.
CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: Hem allowance for the garment bottom and sleeve hem – 2 cm, other allowances - 1.0 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED. ATTENTION! Markings on the patterns are made on the right side.
- From main fabric:
- Back – 1 piece
- Front – 1 piece
- Sleeve – 2 pieces
Tip: Knit fabric pieces are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle or on a coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlocker.
Sewing Instructions
WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- Cut (or use ready-made) bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the back neckline length + 4 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding with the neckline edge on the right side and stitch. Fold the binding to the wrong side, clip the seams, and topstitch along the fold to the main piece. Press the seam. Process the front neckline similarly.
- Create arbitrary pleats on the left shoulder and right side seam, 3 cm down from the armhole. Secure the pleats.
- Stitch the shoulder and side seams, press allowances towards the back and serge.
- Stitch the sleeve seam, press allowances and serge. Set sleeves into armholes, press allowances and serge.
- Serge the bottom edge of the garment and sleeves, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
