When To Wear

  • In summer with trousers or a skirt, tucked in or worn loose.
  • Under a jacket or cardigan at the office.

Key Design Features

Silhouette: Straight, loose through the body.

Length: Hip length.

Neckline: V-neck at the front, round at the back, bound with a folded 4 cm bias strip topstitched along the fold.

Back: One piece cut on the fold, with no seams or darts.

Finishing: Hem turned up 2 cm and topstitched.

Level Of Difficulty

Beginner. Gathering into a straight yoke seam and bias-bound edges; no closures, darts or sleeves.

Fabric Recommendations

Thin blouse fabrics from natural or blended fibres.

Additional Supplies

  • Bias binding 4 cm wide, ready-made or cut from the main fabric

Cutter's Must

If the patterns have a double contour, seam allowances are included. If the contour is single, seam allowances are not included. Seam allowances: all allowances – 1 cm. Hem allowance – 2 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).

  • From main fabric:
    • Back - 1 piece with fold
    • Front - 2 pieces
    • Front Yoke - 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

  1. Along the upper edge of the front, stitch with loosened upper thread and gather. Attach the yoke to the front, press allowances upwards and overlock.
  2. Stitch shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and overlock.
  3. Cut (if not ready-made) a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the neckline length + 5 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding with the neckline edge, right sides together, and stitch. Clip allowances. Fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold to the main piece. Press the seam.
  4. Stitch the center front seam, press allowances to the left side and overlock.
  5. Cut (if not ready-made) a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length + 4 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding with the armhole edge, right sides together, and stitch. Fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold to the main piece.
  6. Stitch side seams, press allowances towards the back and overlock.
  7. Overlock the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
