Dress fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. ALSO NEEDED: fusible interfacing, invisible zipper, 3 hook-and-eye closures.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance – 3.0 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

• From main fabric:
  • Upper center back – 2 pieces
  • Upper side back – 2 pieces
  • Lower center back – 2 pieces
  • Lower side back – 2 pieces
  • Upper center front – 2 pieces
  • Upper side front – 2 pieces
  • Lower center front – 1 piece on fold
  • Lower side front – 2 pieces
  • Front facing – 2 pieces
  • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
• From fusible interfacing:
  • Front facing – 2 pieces
  • Back neckline facing – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
2. Stitch the princess seams of the upper and lower back sections, press seam allowances towards the center and serge. Stitch the upper and lower back sections, press seam allowances upwards and serge.
3. Serge the center back seam separately on each piece. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark to the hem, press seam allowances open. Insert the invisible zipper.
4. Stitch the princess seams of the upper and lower front sections, press seam allowances towards the center and serge.
5. Stitch shoulder seams, press seam allowances towards the back and serge. Clip the shoulder seam allowance on the front and stitch the collar into the back neckline, press seam allowances towards the collar.
6. Stitch, clip at the corner, and press open the shoulder seams of the back neckline facing and front facings. Stitch the collar into the facing neckline, press seam allowances open. Serge the outer edge of the front facings and back neckline facing.
7. Place the front facings and back neckline facing onto the front, right sides together, and stitch the center and outer edge of the collar. Trim seam allowances at corners, clip curves. Turn the collar right side out, smooth seams, and press. Secure the collar attachment seam allowances together.
8. Fold the collar along the marked line and secure it to the front along the lower edge. Form and secure the pleat on the front. Overlap the right front over the left, aligning center lines, and secure along the lower edge. Stitch the upper and lower front sections, press seam allowances downwards and serge.
9. Cut (if not ready-made) a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length + 4 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding onto the armhole edge, right sides together, and stitch. Clip seam allowances. Fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold onto the main piece. Press the seam.
10. Stitch side seams, press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
11. Serge the hem allowance, fold to the wrong side, and hem with blind stitches.
12. Sew hooks to the right side of the collar, and eyes to the left.
