Fabric recommendations: medium-stretch knit fabric made of natural or blended fibers.
CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS ARE WITHOUT SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the bottom of the garment – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST OF ALL, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).
- From main fabric:
- Upper back part - 1 piece on fold
- Lower back part - 1 piece on fold
- Upper front part - 1 piece on fold
- Lower front part - 1 piece on fold
- Front side panel – 2 pieces
- Pocket bag – 2 pieces
- Cuff – 2 pieces
- Waistband – 1 piece on fold
Sewing Instructions
WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH! Tip: Knit fabric pieces are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When serging, trim allowances to 0.6 – 0.8 cm. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle to maintain elasticity.
- Stitch the upper and lower back parts, press allowances upwards and serge.
- Place the pocket bag and the lower front part right sides together and stitch the pocket opening. Clip allowances, turn the pocket bag to the wrong side, and press. Place the lower front part on the front side panel and stitch the edges of the pocket bags, serge allowances. Secure the pieces along the side and upper edges.
- Stitch the upper and lower front parts, press allowances upwards and serge.
- Stitch the right shoulder seam, press allowances towards the back and serge.
- Cut (if not ready-made) a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the neckline length + 5cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding along the neckline edge, right side, and stitch. Clip allowances. Fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold onto the main piece. Press the seam.
- Stitch the left shoulder seam, press allowances towards the back and serge.
- Stitch the side seams, press allowances towards the back and serge.
- Stitch the cuff into a loop, press allowances open. Fold the cuff in half lengthwise, right side out. Stitch the cuff to the wrong side of the sleeve, serge allowances. Turn the cuff to the right side.
- Serge the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
- Fold the waistband in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch, leaving an opening on the long side for turning. Turn the waistband right side out, straighten and press. Topstitch the waistband around the perimeter 0.1 cm from the edge.
