Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: dress fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; concealed zipper; 3 decorative buttons; 1 internal button.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the bottom of the garment and sleeve – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH! Attention! Markings on the patterns are on the right side!

  • From main fabric:
    • Upper back part - 2 pieces
    • Lower back part - 2 pieces
    • Upper front part right - 1 piece
    • Upper front part left - 1 piece
    • Lower front part - 1 piece on fold
    • Collar stand – 2 pieces
    • Belt – 1 piece
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Collar stand – 1 piece
    • Belt – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
  2. Stitch darts on the upper back parts, press allowances towards the center. Stitch upper and lower back parts, press allowances upwards and overlock.
  3. Stitch darts on the upper front parts, press allowances towards the center. Stitch the center seam of the upper front part, press allowances and overlock. Lay and secure the pleat on the upper front part.
  4. On the lower front part, lay the left pleat first, then the right pleat, aligning them with the center marks of the piece. Secure them along the upper edge. Stitch the upper and lower front parts, press allowances upwards and overlock.
  5. Stitch side and shoulder seams simultaneously with the sleeve seam, press allowances towards the back and overlock.
  6. Attach the outer collar stand to the garment neckline, press allowances towards the stand. Overlock the center back edges separately. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark to the bottom, press allowances open. Insert the concealed zipper.
  7. Overlock the lower edge of the inner collar stand. Fold the collar stand pieces right sides together and stitch along the upper edge. Clip allowances, turn the stand right side out, straighten and press. Topstitch the inner collar stand into the seam of the outer collar stand attachment.
  8. Overlock the bottom edge of the garment and sleeve, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
  9. Fold the belt in half lengthwise right sides together and stitch, leaving an opening on the long side for turning. Turn the belt right side out, straighten and press. Topstitch the belt around the perimeter 0.1 cm from the edge.
  10. Overlock buttonholes on the belt, sew on buttons. Sew a button on the upper front part.
