When To Wear

  • For daytime and evening events in spring and summer.
  • As a guest dress at a wedding or a party, without a jacket so the sleeves stay visible.

Silhouette: A-line, fitted above a high waist seam by darts in the upper front and upper back.

Length: Above the knee.

Neckline: Wide round neckline, finished with front and back neck facings.

Sleeves: Wide, flared and open along the side. Each sleeve has a folded side insert, topstitched along its fold over the marked seam of the front, and a double lower band sewn to the sleeve edge.

Closure: Concealed zip in the centre back seam.

Back: Upper and lower back cut in two halves, with a centre back seam; the front is cut on the fold.

Waist: Horizontal high waist seam on the front and back, allowances pressed up.

Finishing: Hem overlocked, turned up and topstitched.

Level Of Difficulty

Intermediate. A concealed zip, neck facings, and the open sleeve with a folded side insert and a double lower band that must be stitched exactly to the marked lines.

Fabric Recommendations

Dress fabrics of natural or blended fibres; chiffon for the sleeves.

Additional Supplies

  • Concealed zip
  • Fusible interfacing (neck facings, sleeve side inserts, lower sleeve bands)

Cutter's Must

If the patterns have a double contour, the patterns include seam allowances. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the bottom edge of the garment – 2.0 cm. Attention! First of all, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) to determine how much material you will need (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!
