CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS ARE WITHOUT SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: Hem allowance for the garment bottom and sleeve hem – 1.5 cm; other seams – 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- From main fabric:
- Back - 1 piece on fold
- Front - 1 piece on fold
- Front insert – 2 pieces
- Back yoke – 1 piece on fold
- Placket — 4 pieces
- Sleeve – 2 pieces
- Sleeve tab – 2 pieces
- Neckline facing – 2 pieces
- From fusible interfacing:
- Neckline facing – 1 piece
- Placket – 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
- Lay pleats on the back, directing the depths towards the center. Stitch the back yoke to the back. Press the seam allowance towards the yoke and overcast.
- Along the upper edge of the front, stitch with loosened upper thread and gather. Stitch the insert to the front, press seam allowances towards the front and overcast.
- Stitch side and shoulder seams, press seam allowances towards the back and overcast.
- Fold placket pieces in pairs right sides together and stitch the outer edge. Turn pieces right side out and press. On the right placket, overcast buttonholes. Stitch plackets to the right side of the front along the long edge, stopping 1 cm from the bottom. Clip the front allowance at the corners, stopping 1 mm from the stitching line. Tuck the ends of the plackets inwards and stitch, securing the bottom edge. Overcast allowances.
- Fold neckline facing pieces right sides together and stitch along the outer contour. Start and end stitching strictly at the marked seam line for attachment. Clip allowances at curves. Turn the finished facing right side out and press. Stitch the upper facing to the neckline, press allowances towards the facing. Turn under the open edge of the lower facing and topstitch into the seam of the upper facing attachment.
- Fold tabs lengthwise in the middle right sides together and stitch along the long and short edges. Turn right side out, trimming allowances at corners, straighten and press. Overcast the open short edge. Topstitch tabs according to markings on the wrong side of the sleeves.
- Stitch sleeve seams, press towards the back and overcast. Stitch sleeves into armholes, press allowances and overcast.
- Overcast the bottom edge of the garment and sleeves, fold inwards and topstitch.
- On the left front - sew on buttons. Overcast buttonholes on the tabs, sew on buttons on the sleeves.
