  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
  2. Stitch darts on the upper and lower back pieces, press dart allowances towards the center of the pieces. Stitch darts on the lower front piece, press dart allowances towards the center of the piece.
  3. Stitch the princess seams of the upper front part, press allowances towards the center, serge.
  4. Finish the outer edges of the flounces with a rolled hem (or "American" hem). To do this, trim the outer allowances. Fold flounces right sides together. Stitch the center seam of the upper front part, inserting the flounces, press allowances and serge. Spread the flounces to two sides, align and secure along the neckline and shoulder seams, then treat as one piece.
  5. Fold peplum pieces right sides together and stitch along the outer contour. Clip allowances at curves, trim corners. Turn peplum right side out, shape, press.
  6. Stitch side seams on the upper and lower parts of the dress, press allowances towards the back and serge. Stitch shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and serge.
  7. Stitch the upper and lower parts of the dress, inserting the peplum, press allowances upwards and serge.
  8. Serge the center back seam separately on each piece. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark to the bottom, press allowances open. Insert the zipper.
  9. Stitch shoulder seams of neckline facings, press allowances open. Serge the outer edge. Place facing and garment right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Turn facing to the wrong side, shape, press. Secure facing to the main garment at shoulder seams and center back seam.
  10. Stitch the sleeve seam. Press allowances towards the back and serge. Set sleeve into armhole, matching notches, press allowances and serge.
  11. Serge the bottom edge of the dress and sleeve, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
