  1. Interface the pieces with fusible interfacing.
  2. Stitch darts on the upper back pieces, press allowances towards the center of the pieces. Attach the back waistband to the upper back. Overlock the allowance and press upwards.
  3. Stitch darts on the lower back pieces. Press allowances towards the center. Stitch the upper and lower back pieces, press allowances towards the waistband and overlock.
  4. Overlock the center back seam separately on each piece. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark to the bottom, press allowances open. Insert the invisible zipper.
  5. Stitch the princess seam of the upper front piece, press allowances towards the center, overlock.
  6. Attach the front waistband to the upper front, press allowances upwards and overlock. Stitch darts on the lower front piece. Press allowances towards the center. Attach the lower front piece to the front waistband, press allowances upwards and overlock.
  7. Overlock the outer allowances of the ruffle, fold inwards and topstitch. Place the ruffle on the front, align and secure along the neckline and shoulder seams. Then treat as one piece. The outer edge of the ruffle can be bound with bias tape or finished with a narrow rolled hem. For this, the outer allowances must be trimmed.

  9. Stitch shoulder seams of neckline facings, press allowances open. Overlock the outer edge. Place the facing with the garment right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Turn the facing to the wrong side, straighten, press. Secure the facing to the main garment at the shoulder seams and center back seam.
  10. Stitch the sleeve seam. Overlock the allowance and press towards the back. Set the sleeve into the armhole, matching notches. Overlock the allowance and press.
  11. Overlock the bottom edge of the dress and sleeve, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
