Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  1. Fuse interlining to the designated pieces.
  2. Serge the center back edges separately. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark to the bottom. Press seam allowances open. Insert the concealed zipper.
  3. Place flap pieces right sides together and stitch along the side and bottom edges. Trim seam allowances, turn the flap right side out and press. Attach the flap to the front along the upper pocket marking line (finished edge facing the neckline). Attach the large pocket bag to the front along the upper pocket marking line. Attach the small pocket bag to the front along the lower pocket marking line. Stitch ends should stop at the short marking lines. Cut the pocket opening. Make diagonal cuts 1-1.5 cm from the end of the pocket. Turn the flap and pocket bags to the wrong side through the opening. Secure the pocket ends from the wrong side with a double backstitch at the base of the corners. Stitch the pocket bag edges together.
  4. Stitch shoulder and side seams. Serge seam allowances and press towards the back.
  5. Place the upper collar and lower collar right sides together and stitch the ends, outer edge, and center back seam. Trim seam allowances at corners, turn the collar right side out, shape, and press. Place collar stand pieces right sides together, insert the finished collar between them, align notches from the center, and stitch, simultaneously finishing the collar stand. Start and end stitching strictly at the marked line of the collar stand attachment seam. Turn the finished collar right side out and press.
  6. Create a pleat on the front. Secure the pleat at the neckline edge. Attach the outer collar stand with the collar to the neckline, fold under the open edge of the inner collar stand, and topstitch into the attachment seam.
  7. Stitch the sleeve seam, press seam allowances towards the back of the sleeve and serge. Stitch the cuff into a loop, press seam allowances open. Press the cuff lengthwise in half, right side out. Attach the outer side of the cuff to the sleeve, fold under the allowance of the inner side inwards and topstitch into the seam. Set sleeves into armholes, matching notches, press seam allowances and serge.
  8. Serge the bottom edge of the dress, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.
