Fabric & Materials

FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: low-stretch knit fabric made of natural or blended fibers in contrasting or analogous colors. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: knit fusible interfacing.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED. WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric 1:
    • Upper back part – 1 piece on fold
    • Upper front part – 1 piece on fold
    • Sleeve insert – 2 pieces
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece
  • From main fabric 2:
    • Lower back part – 1 piece on fold
    • Lower front part – 1 piece on fold
    • Sleeve – 2 pieces
    • Cuff – 2 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Cuff – 2 pieces
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
  2. Stitch shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and serge. Attach sleeve insert to the garment, press allowances towards the garment and serge.
  3. Attach sleeve to the lower back part, press allowances towards the back and serge. Attach sleeve to the lower front part, press allowances towards the front and serge.
  4. Stitch the upper and lower parts of the garment, clipping allowances at corners. Press allowances and serge.
  5. Stitch side seams simultaneously with sleeve seams, press allowances towards the back and serge.
  6. Stitch shoulder seams of facings, press allowances open. Serge outer edge. Place facings right sides together with the garment and stitch neckline edge. Clip allowances at curves, turn facings to the wrong side and press. Secure facings to shoulder seams.
  7. Stitch cuff into a loop, press allowances open. Fold cuff lengthwise in half with right side out and press. Place cuff with the wrong side of the sleeve and attach to the lower edge, press allowances and serge. Fold cuff to the right side and press.
  8. Serge the bottom edge of the garment, press towards the wrong side and topstitch.
