Fabric & Materials

FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: blouse fabrics made from natural or blended fibers; lace fabric. ALSO NEEDED: invisible zipper.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all allowances – 1 cm. Hem allowance – 1.5 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Back - 2 pieces
    • Lower back part - 1 piece
    • Front - 1 piece
    • Lower front part - 1 piece
  • From lace fabric:
    • Back yoke - 1 piece
    • Front yoke - 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

  1. On the back pieces, stitch the waist darts, press the allowances towards the center. Stitch the center back seam, press the allowances to the left side and overcast. Attach the lower back part to the back, press the allowances upwards and overcast.
  2. On the front piece, stitch the waist and bust darts, press the waist dart allowances towards the center, bust darts - upwards. Attach the lower front part to the front, press the allowances upwards and overcast.
  3. Stitch the shoulder seams of the yokes, press the allowances towards the back and overcast.
  4. Overcast the armhole edge, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
  5. Attach the yokes to the back and front (the armhole edge on the back and front extends by 1 cm), press the allowances downwards and overcast.
  6. Cut (if not ready-made) a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the neckline length + 4 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding with the neckline edge right sides together and stitch, fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold onto the main piece.
  7. Stitch the right side seam, press the allowances towards the back and overcast. Overcast the left side edges separately. Stitch the left side seam from the armhole to the upper mark and from the lower mark to the bottom. Insert the invisible zipper between the marks.
  8. Cut (if not ready-made) a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding with the armhole edge right sides together and stitch, fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold onto the main piece.
  9. Overcast the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
