Pattern #4535
Tech. Description

Fabric & Materials

FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: dress fabrics made of natural or blended fibers with elastane. ALSO NEEDED: fusible interfacing; concealed zipper.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm; hem allowance for the dress bottom – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical details). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Center back part - 2 pieces
    • Side back part - 2 pieces
    • Center front part – 1 piece
    • Side front part - 2 pieces
    • Front yoke - 4 pieces

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
  2. Stitch the princess seams on the back pieces. Overlock the allowances and press them towards the center back.
  3. Overlock the center back edges separately on each piece. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark downwards. Press the seam allowances open, pressing the slit. Insert the concealed zipper.
  4. Overlock the lower edge of the front neckline facing. Face the upper edge of the center front piece, turn the facing to the wrong side, and topstitch 0.5 cm from the edge.
  5. Stitch the princess seams on the front pieces. Overlock the allowances and press them towards the center of the pieces. Attach the yoke to the front. Press the allowance towards the yoke.
  6. Stitch the shoulder and side seams. Overlock the allowances and press them towards the back.
  7. Stitch the shoulder and side seams of the facings and yokes. Overlock the allowances and press them towards the back. Overlock the lower edges. Place the outer and inner yokes right sides together and stitch the neckline and corner. Turn the inner yokes to the wrong side and press the neckline. Face the armhole in two steps: first the front armhole, then the back armhole. Attach the lower edge of the inner yokes into the seam of the outer yokes. Hand-tack the back yoke to the back princess seam.
  8. Overlock, fold, and topstitch the bottom edge of the dress.
