- From main fabric:
- 1. Upper back – 2 pieces
- 2. Lower back – 2 pieces
- 3. Upper front – 1 piece
- 4. Lower right front – 1 piece
- 5. Lower left front – 1 piece
- 6. Sleeve – 2 pieces
- 7. Front neckline facing – 1 piece
- 8. Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
- From fusible interfacing:
- 1. Front neckline facing – 1 piece
- 2. Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse fusible interfacing to the designated pieces.
- On the back pieces, stitch the waist darts. Press dart depths towards the center. Attach the lower back to the upper back, press seam allowances upwards and serge.
- Serge the center edges of the back separately. Stitch the center seam of the back from the zipper mark downwards, press seam allowances open. Insert the zipper.
- On the upper front piece, stitch the waist and bust darts. Press waist dart depths towards the center, and bust darts upwards.
- Serge the center edges of the lower front pieces. Press the center edge of the left lower front to the wrong side and topstitch. Place the right lower front with the left piece, right sides together, aligning the marked seam allowance line of the center edge on the right piece with the marking on the left piece, and topstitch from the upper edge to the mark. Fold the right piece to the right side, press the seam, pressing the seam allowance of the right front 's center edge. Topstitch the pressed seam allowance, folding back the left front.
- Attach the lower front to the upper front, press seam allowances upwards and serge.
- Stitch the shoulder and side seams. Press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
- Stitch the shoulder seams of the facings, press seam allowances open. Serge the outer edge. Place the facings with the garment right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Clip the seam allowances at curves, turn the facings to the wrong side and press. Secure the facings to the shoulder seams and the zipper tape.
- Stitch the sleeve seam, press seam allowances and serge. Set the sleeves into the armholes, aligning notches. Press seam allowances and serge.
- Serge the hem of the garment and sleeves, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
