Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to FACING and belt pieces.
  2. Stitch darts on BACK PANEL and FRONT PANEL pieces. Press waist and shoulder dart allowances towards the center of the pieces, and bust darts upwards.
  3. On the left lower BACK PANEL, cut 5 cm along the vertical slit edge. On both lower BACK PANEL pieces, fuse the slit from the wrong side. On the right side, mark the center seam line (slit fold line). Press the left part along the slit fold line; on the right part, press only the right slit allowance (6 cm) to the wrong side. Align the pieces along the center seam and secure at the upper slit edge. Overlock the slit allowances. Stitch the center BACK PANEL edge from the mark to the slit corner. Clip the slit SEAM ALLOWANCE corner on the right part. Press open the center seam allowances, overlock them, press the slit allowances and secure them on the right side with machine stitching. Insert the ZIPPER.
  4. Stitch side and shoulder edges, press allowances towards the BACK PANEL and overlock.
  5. Stitch shoulder edges of FACINGS, press allowances open. Overlock the outer edge. Place the dress and FACING right sides together, aligning the neckline edges. Stitch the neckline edge and FRONT PANEL opening. Clip allowances on curves, trim at corners, and on the FRONT PANEL opening section, trim the allowance to 0.1 - 0.2 cm. Turn pieces to the right side, straighten and press. Attach the FACING to the shoulder seams and ZIPPER tape.
  6. Stitch the SLEEVE edge on main and LINING fabric pieces, press allowances and overlock. Stitch with a loosened thread along the lower and upper edges of the lower SLEEVE part and gather. Place the lower SLEEVE pieces of main and LINING fabric right sides together and stitch the lower edge. Turn the SLEEVE to the right side, align and secure the LINING to the main fabric along the upper edge and armhole edge. Then treat as one piece.
  7. Attach the upper SLEEVE part to the lower part, press allowances upwards, overlock. Set in the SLEEVES into the armhole, matching NOTCHES. Press and overlock allowances.
  8. Overlock the hem allowance of the dress, press to the wrong side and hem with blind stitches.
  9. Fold belt_1 in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch along three sides, inserting hooks into one of the short sides, and leaving an opening on the long side for turning. Turn the belt to the right side, straighten, and press. Close the turning opening. Adjust the belt length and sew loops for the hooks.
  10. Fold belt_2 in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch along three sides, leaving an opening on the long side for turning. Turn the belt to the right side, straighten, and press. Close the turning opening.
