Sewing Instructions
- Fuse fusible interfacing to the neckline facing pieces.
- Stitch the dart on the left front, press the depth downwards.
- Attach the left front to the upper center. Overlock the seam allowance and press towards the left.
- Stitch the lower and right front PANELs. Overlock the seam allowance and press towards the lower. Attach the front insert to the upper and lower front PANELs. Overlock the seam allowances and press towards the insert.
- Overlock the center edges of the back separately on each piece. Stitch the edges from the zipper mark downwards. Press the seam allowances open. Insert the zipper.
- Stitch the shoulder and side edges. Overlock the seam allowances and press towards the back.
- Stitch the shoulder edges of the FACINGs. Press the seam allowances open and overlock. Overlock the outer edge of the FACINGs. Place the dress with the facing right sides together, aligning the neckline edges. Before reaching 5 mm from the edges of the concealed fastening, fold back the facing and pin it to the upper edge of the dress. On the right side of the dress, fold back the seam allowances along the zipper and pin them to the neckline edge over the facing. Stitch the neckline edge. Clip the seam at the curves, turn the pieces right side out and press. Topstitch the seam allowances to the facing. Secure the facing to the zipper tape.
- Overlock the lower edge of the sleeve, press to the wrong side and topstitch. Set the sleeves into the armholes, matching the notches. Clip the seam allowances at the marks, press and overlock.
- Cut a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the length of the lower armhole + 6 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise with the right side out and press. Place the trim strip with the armhole edge right side together, extending the tails, and stitch. Fold the trim strip to the wrong side, clip the seams and topstitch along the fold to the main piece. Press the seam.
- Overlock the hem allowance of the dress, press to the wrong side and hem with blind stitches.
