Neckline: Features a V-neckline framed by a gracefully turned out shawl collar band.

Front Draping: The front is distinguished by gathers that originate from under a central, horizontal tab, creating beautiful, soft folds across the bust and waist.

Level Of Difficulty

Intermediate. This pattern requires experience with knit fabrics, creating gathers, attaching a placket, and working with elastic thread.

Fabric Recommendations

For best results, choose thin, well-draping knit fabrics with a medium degree of stretch:

  • Knit fabrics made from natural or blended fibers

Additional Supplies

  • Elastic thread

Cutter's Must

If the patterns have a double contour, seam allowances are included. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: hem allowance and sleeve hem allowance – 1.5 cm, other seams 0.8 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need.

  • From main fabric:
    • Back – 2 pieces
    • Center front – 2 pieces
    • Side front – 2 pieces
    • Collar – 1 piece
    • Placket – 1 piece

Tip: Cut pieces from knit fabrics are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlock machine.

Sewing Instructions

When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

  1. Along cut edge 3 on the side front, sew a row of stitches with loosely tensioned stitches and gather. Stitch cut edges 1 and 2 on the side front. Even out the resulting vertical sections (do not stitch).
  2. On the center front, mark and cut the dart, leaving seam allowances of 0.5 - 0.7 cm. Stitch the dart. Stitch the princess seam. Press the seam.
  3. Along the shoulder seam of the front from the mark to the center seam, sew a row of stitches with loosely tensioned stitches and gather. Stitch the side and shoulder seams of the back and front.
  4. Fold the collar in half lengthwise, right sides out, and attach it to the neckline. Start and end the stitching at the mark of the center front seam. Stitch the center front seam from the mark to the bottom.
  5. Fold the placket in half lengthwise, right sides in, and stitch the longitudinal edge. Turn the placket right side out and press, centering the seam on the placket.
  6. Along the undercuts on the front, sew a row of stitches with elastic thread. Stitch between the holes. Insert the placket into the holes and stitch.
  7. Overlock, fold, and topstitch the bottom edge and armhole edges.
