Cutting Plan
- From main fabric:
- 1. Back — 1 piece
- 2. Front — 2 pieces
- 3. Sleeve — 2 pieces
- 4. Collar — 1 piece
- 5. Cuff — 2 pieces
Attention! Before you begin, check that your head fits through the collar once it is sewn into a loop.
Tip: Cut pieces from knit fabrics should be sewn with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. The hem allowance should be topstitched with a twin needle or on a coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity. You can also sew the pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlocker.
Sewing Instructions
- Stitch the dart on the sleeve pieces. Trim the dart depth with an overlocker to 0.7 cm.
- Overlock the wrap edge of the front bodice, press to the wrong side, and topstitch. Overlap the right front bodice over the left and secure along the side seam.
- Attach the back parts of the sleeves to the back bodice. Attach the front parts of the sleeves to the front bodice. Press the seam allowances towards the sleeve and overlock.
- Stitch the lower edge of the sleeve and the side seam in one continuous seam. Press the seam allowances towards the back bodice and overlock.
- Along the neckline of the front bodice, sew a basting stitch with loosely pulled threads and gather.
- Fold the collar in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch the section between the “o” marks. Clip the seam allowances at the mark, turn the collar right side out. Stitch the collar into a loop. Turn the collar right side out and press. Fold the collar in half, wrong sides together. Attach the collar to the neckline, aligning the notches and stretching the collar edge. The collar seam is located at the left shoulder dart of the sleeve. Press the collar attachment seam.
- Stitch the cuff into a loop, turn right side out, and press. Fold the cuff in half, wrong sides together. Along the lower edge of the sleeve, sew a basting stitch with loosely pulled threads and gather to the length of the cuff. Attach the cuff to the lower edge of the sleeve, press the seam allowances.
- Overlock the lower edge of the garment, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.
