This versatile knit top is perfect for a variety of casual to semi-formal occasions, offering comfort and style for:
Silhouette: Fitted through the bust and empire waist, gently skimming the body down to hip-length.
Neckline: a graceful V-neckline formed by meeting in the center upper front panels, designed for a flattering décolletage.
Front: Features a gathered bustline directly above the upper seam of waist inet, adding soft volume and shaping.
Waist: An elevated empire waist defines the figure and creates an elegant silhouette.
Sleeves: Practical and stylish below elbow set-in sleeves, offering coverage and ease of movement.
Back: a clean and simple back with a subtle center back seam, allowing the front details to shine.
Length: Finishes at the hip, suitable for wearing tucked in or out.
Intermediate. Requires familiarity with sewing knit fabrics, gathering techniques, and setting in sleeves.
Achieve the best drape and comfort by selecting knit fabrics with a medium degree of stretch:
No additional notions are required.
If the patterns have a double contour, seam allowances are included. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: Neckline edges of back and front, bottom edge of garment and sleeve hem – 1.5 cm. All other seam allowances – 0.7 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can range from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need.
Tip: Knit fabric pieces are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle or on a coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlocker.
When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!
