Fabric & Materials

FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: dense fabrics made of natural or blended fibers (denim, corduroy, suiting fabric). YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; lining fabric; zipper; twill or calico tape.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical details). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

• From fusible interfacing:

  • Strap – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

1. Fuse interfacing to the corresponding pieces.
2. On the handle piece, press seam allowances around the perimeter to the wrong side. Fold the handle lengthwise in half, right side out, and topstitch 0.1 cm from the edge.
3. Confirm the length of the strap. Fold the strap piece lengthwise in half, right sides together, and stitch along the long side. Turn the piece right side out, straighten, topstitch 0.1 cm from the edge on both sides. Alternatively, you can use textile webbing for the strap.
4. Mark the beginning and end of the zipper attachment on the upper part. For the remaining section, cut a bridge piece, equal in width to the zipper (don't forget to add seam allowances). Cut an identical bridge piece from the lining fabric. Place the main fabric and lining bridge pieces right sides together and stitch the short edges. Turn the piece right side out, straighten, press, topstitch 0.1 cm from the edge.
5. Place the upper part and the upper lining part wrong sides together, secure along the edges. Attach one side of the zipper and the bridge piece. Bind the seam allowances with tape.
6. Stitch the side parts, press seam allowances open and topstitch 0.1 cm from the seam. Topstitch the handle according to the markings. Stitch and press open the seams on the lining side part. Place the side part and lining wrong sides together, secure along the edges.
7. Place the lower part and the lower lining part wrong sides together, secure along the edges. Stitch the lower part and side parts, inserting the straps according to the markings. Bind the seam allowances with tape.
8. Attach the second part of the zipper and the lower edge of the bridge piece to the upper edge of the side part, bind the seam allowances with tape.
